Mr. Brad Columbus

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians:

Welcome to Three Rivers Middle College!

Three Rivers Middle College Magnet High School (TRMC) is a dual enrollment high school for students in grades 11-12. We are located inside the campus of Three Rivers Community College in Norwich, Connecticut. Our school prepares students to be college ready while fostering a nurturing environment that creates student ownership of their own learning.

TRMC first opened our doors fall of 2012 with 33 students residing from 13 surrounding towns. Our program doubled in size to a student body of approximately 66 classmates. We are a small learning community that provides students with a supportive atmosphere. Our professional learning community is committed to 21st century instruction that promotes effort and ensures academic rigor through a challenging curriculum responsive to the diverse interests of a broad spectrum of students.

TRMC students have complete access to the Community College. In addition to college classes students have access to college clubs, activities, and the health and wellness center. In a dual enrollment program students can take college classes while receiving high school and college credits. TRMC allows students to finish high school graduation requirements while gaining college credit. Students have an opportunity to explore Career Pathways such as Engineering, Hotel Hospitality Management, Business Finance, Criminal Justice and Early Child Education to name a few. Additional learning opportunities are provided through internships in the Community College as well as through local community businesses.

We pride ourselves on providing opportunities for all students. During your time at TRMC you will have the opportunity to participate in amazing learning experiences, including TRCC College courses, personalized TRMC courses and find your passion during our Wolf Pack Hour. You will have opportunity to develop your leadership skills by participating in our extracurricular activities such as Town Meetings, clubs, Internships and various community service projects.

You will have to opportunity to learn in an environment where the use of technology is fully integrated into daily learning. You will also have the opportunity to express yourself creatively through our annual coffee house performances, TRCC Art classes and in our new Maker Space Lab equipped with a 3D Printer.

Along the way you will be challenged to find your passion, set goals and create a plan to attain those goals. You will be provided opportunity to develop college readiness skills such as time management, growth mindset, delayed gratification, grit and being accountable to the Wolf Pack. You will be provided high quality SAT Prep and all students will participate in our October SAT/PSAT school day. As a Middle College themed magnet school we feel it’s extremely important to have Middle College days such as College Visits, College Fair trips, College Application support days and Parent Workshops.

Part of the reason our program has been so successful is due to our students, staff and families embracing our school-wide efforts to provide personalized learning experiences for all students while supporting them in a challenging academic environment. There is no substitute for hard work and our current/former students have set a standard for all to follow. Our academic achievements in TRCC college classes, on the SAT and admission in to some of the best colleges in the country is an example of the effort and dedication that has been put forth to build our school. It is now your turn to define your legacy and continue to the Wolf Pack tradition!
